This is an update to the F.D.A. Testings on "SprayGel" in the United States.
The F.D.A. has determined that "SprayGel's" use in the United States will NOT be approved.
It would seem that although the European Countries are proclaiming such good results with SprayGel, they are also not reporting Deaths as a result of SprayGel's use. Their guidlines and rules are different than those of the United States.
According to the F.D.A. guidelines and tests done on SprayGel in the United States:
SprayGel is absorbed through the Liver, unlike most other Adhesion barriers, which are absorbed through the kidney. With the testings that the F.D.A. did, their determination was that the death results from Liver failure, where too high to grant the use of this product in the United States at this time.
Recently I had my 20th surgery in 8 long years. My Doctor and I discovered that with some small but sugnificent changes the Operating Room, surgeries for people with Adhesions is soon on its way to getting better!
Small changes such as: Keeping the body warm with a warming balloon { Like an air filled matteress but with maintained warm air in it to warm the body during surgery } this lessens the trauma that the body endures during the cold tempatrues in the O.R. Also, warming the surgical tools, lessens the shock to the Organs where the Adhesions cling or are attatched. New Science has also made it possible for Sepra-Film to now be used through a "scope" rather than only during a "full cut" surgery!
Though this may not sound like much of an improvement,,, believe me,, it REALLY is! This last surgery under the newest method, turned out to be one of the best surgeries I've ever had! My recovery time was dramatically better, and I was back to work in two weeks rather then the usual 6 to 8 weeks. In fact, when I woke up from the surgery, if I had not looked for stitches and found them, I would not of believed that my Doctor even did surgery on me,,, I FELT GREAT!!!!!!
The F.D.A. is still working on better surgical products for the Adhesion sufferer, I will keep you informed, as I learn of new things to come. But for now, try talking to your Doctor, to find out if your Operating Room can get the very useful and low cost equipment to help aid in a much faster recovery, and to aid in helping to cut down on reoccuring Adhesions.

Recently I discovered a web site that I feel everyone that suffers from Adhesions, should visit! www.adhesions.org While at this site, I discovered a new procedure that is being done over seas and it has been VERY successful in helping women to become pain free from Adhesions!!
Although our F.D.A. is aware of this procedure and it's success rate, they are still dragging their feet on an approval for this procedure.
According to the research being done by our F.D.A. { which by the way is being done on "MONKEYS } approval is still more than 2 years away! It seems as though our F.D.A. feels { and I quote them here } "any "MONKEY" can produce an Adhesion"!! My question here is,, "can that Monkey" say OUCH????
Many women suffer daily from this silent killing nightmare. Their families and friends have to sit by and watch as they die a sometimes slow agonizing painful death all while knowing our F.D.A. knows of a cure, but since the "test subjects" are "MONKEYS" many women will continue to die needlessly!!
No longer do we have to wait for the cure! For about Ten Thousand US dollars, women can now go to Countries like Australia and Germany to have this "Life Saving Procedure" done, and actually be "Pain Free" from the hell Adhesions cause on your body and your life!!!

It is my hope to aid in the "push" of our F.D.A. to approve this procedure here in the United States and stop this hell that millions of American women are suffering from. Not all of us are "rich" enough to just fly off to places such as Australia or Germany to have something done about our health!!!
